History

Our history at a glance.

1967

Founded by Mr. Seizo Katsui (Chairman) in Osaka.

1968

Designed and developed the H-type Grate, which has become Plantec Inc.’s long time seller until now.

Received the first overseas order – A waste-to-energy stoker-type incineration plant (150 tons / 24-hr / 2-line / 2,500kW/h) – from Quezon City, Philippines.

1971

Received the first order of domestic incineration plant for municipal solid waste (150 tons / 24-hr / 1-line) for the Abiko City Clean Center (subcontracted by Hitachi Zosen Corporation).

1989

Launched out into initial R&D of Vertical Combustor.

1993

Received the first order of Vertical Combustor incineration plant for medical waste (4 tons / 8-hr / 2-line) from Kyoto University Hospital.

2000

The Vertical Combustor & Turbo Chemical Baghouse Incineration System received The Science and Technology Agency Director General Award for its revolution and innovative combustion technology in treating medical waste.

2002

Received the first order of Vertical Combustor waste-to-energy incineration plant (50 tons / 24-hr / 2-line) adopted as a medical waste treating plant for the Tokyo Super Eco Town Project.

2006

Awarded The Wastec Grand Award – New Technology Division by the Wastec Expo Steering Committee, in recognition of the Vertical Combustor’s innovative technology.

2007

Vertical Combustor was regarded as ‘Next Generation Stoker-type Incinerator’ and awarded The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Director General Award at the 33rd Excellent Eco-Friendly Industrial Equipment Award Ceremony by Japan Society of Industrial Machinery Manufacturers.

Received an order of incineration plant for municipal solid waste (17.5 tons / 24-hr / 2-line) from Gakuhoku Administrative Association, Nagano.

Received an order of Vertical Combustor incineration plant for medical waste (19.2 tons / 24-hr / 1-line) from Dubai Municipality, UAE (joint order with Mitsubishi Corporation).

2008

Mr. Seizo Katsui (Chairman) received the Medal of Honor – Yellow Ribbon from His Majesty the Emperor of Japan; in recognition of his great contribution to researching and developing innovative waste treatment technologies and improving public health.

2010

Received an order of Vertical Combustor incineration plant for municipal solid waste (71 tons / 24-hr / 2-line) from Ito City, Shizuoka.

2011

Received an order of Vertical Combustor incineration plant for municipal solid waste (71 tons / 24-hr / 2-line) from Ito City, Shizuoka.

2012

Vertical Combustor incineration plant (Miyagi Prefecture) contributed in recycling disaster waste (95 tons / 24-hr / 3-line) from the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, by processing approximately 90,000 tons annually in supporting the restoration of Minamisanriku area.

2013

SLA Combustion Technology was awarded The Technology Award and received high compliments from the Combustion Society of Japan (the most authoritative organization in combustion engineering).

Received an order of Vertical Combustor incineration plant for municipal solid waste (27 tons / 24-hr / 2-line) from Nagayo Togitsu Environmental Association, Nagasaki.

2016

Awarded the Merit Award by Japan Society of Material Cycles and Waste Management, in recognition of the Vertical Combustor’s innovative waste treatment technology.

Turbo Chemical Baghouse was awarded The President Award of the Japan Society of Industrial Machinery Manufacturers at the 42nd Excellent Eco-Friendly Industrial Equipment Commendation.

Mr. Seizo Katsui (Chairman) was awarded the prestigious Minister of the Environment Award, for Contributors to Establishing a Sound Material Cycle Society for his valuable contribution to R&D of waste treatment technologies, which have made a profound impact on Japan’s public health.

2017

Plantec Inc. and Tokyo Waterfront Recycle Power Co. received jointly the JIE Academic Award (Technology Division) from Japan Institute of Energy for the innovative technology in medical waste energy recovery.

Vertical Combustor’s outstanding performance was recognized and awarded The Excellent Product Award by The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Established an overseas subsidiary: Plantec Argonaut Pte. Ltd. in Singapore.

50th Anniversary of Plantec Inc., Mr. Motoaki Katsui was appointed to the Representative Director and President.

2018

Awarded The Technology Award by The Society for Chemical Engineers (Japan), in recognition of the invention of high-performance dry type chemical reaction dust collector “Turbo Chemical Baghouse”.
